How a smear test is performed

your experienced female doctor will guide you through the procedure in a calm, private setting. while you lie comfortably, a small instrument called a speculum is gently inserted to view the cervix. a soft brush is then used to collect a small sample of cells from the cervix. the process is quick, usually lasting just a few minutes, with minimal discomfort. the sample is sent to the lab for analysis to detect any abnormal cell changes that may require further care or monitoring.
